DHA Licensing for Ayurveda Doctors — Dubai

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) licenses Ayurveda doctors under the "Traditional / Complementary Medicine" track. A valid BAMS + 2 years experience is the floor; MD/MS Ayurveda holders may bypass the assessment.

6–12 weeks (Sheryan portal) AED 3,800–5,200 (assessment + license + activation)

Eligibility

  • BAMS from a recognised university (CCIM/NCISM listed)
  • Minimum 2 years post-internship clinical experience
  • Valid CCIM / KSMC registration (active)
  • IELTS Academic 5.0+ or equivalent English proficiency (for some routes)

  • BAMS degree certificate + final transcript
  • CCIM / KSMC registration certificate
  • Experience letters (2+ years)
  • Good Standing Certificate from KSMC
  • Photograph (white background, 4×6 cm)

Exam

DHA Prometric assessment (computer-based). 100 MCQs · 150 minutes · pass mark 60%. Exempt if you hold MD/MS Ayurveda + 5 years experience.

Step-by-step process

  1. 1. Create Sheryan account at dha.gov.ae
  2. 2. Submit Primary Source Verification (PSV via Dataflow)
  3. 3. Sit DHA Prometric exam (or apply for exemption)
  4. 4. Receive eligibility letter
  5. 5. Submit job offer + employer activation
  6. 6. Receive DHA Professional License

Tips

  • Apply for PSV via Dataflow in parallel with the exam booking — saves 4 weeks
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS) certificate is mandatory for licensing
  • Activation is tied to a sponsoring facility; you cannot work freelance on a base DHA license
