Dubai (DHA)

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) licenses Ayurveda doctors under the "Traditional / Complementary Medicine" track. A valid BAMS + 2 years experience is the floor; MD/MS Ayurveda holders may bypass the assessment.

Abu Dhabi (DOH)

The Department of Health Abu Dhabi licenses Ayurveda physicians under the Tamm platform with PQR (Professional Qualifications Requirements) "Ayurveda Practitioner" category.

8–14 weeks · AED 4,500–6,000 (Dataflow + assessment + license)

UAE Federal (MOHAP)

The Ministry of Health & Prevention (MOHAP) licenses Ayurveda doctors practising in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah.

6–10 weeks · AED 3,500–4,800

Qatar (QCHP)

The Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) licenses traditional medicine physicians, including Ayurveda, under "TCM Practitioner" category.

12–18 weeks · QAR 4,000–6,500

Saudi Arabia (SCFHS)

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classifies Ayurveda under Complementary & Alternative Medicine. Demand is limited but growing in Riyadh and Jeddah private clinics.

10–16 weeks · SAR 1,500–3,000 (verification + exam) + license fee

Oman (MOH)

Oman MOH licenses Ayurveda under Traditional Medicine. Demand concentrated in Muscat + Salalah.

6–10 weeks · OMR 200–400 + Dataflow + license fee

Bahrain (NHRA)

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) licenses Ayurveda doctors under Complementary Medicine.

8–12 weeks · BHD 250–400

United Kingdom

There is no statutory Ayurveda doctor register in the UK. Practitioners typically register voluntarily with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) under "Ayurvedic Practice" or work via the British Ayurvedic Medical Council (BAMC).

4–8 weeks (CNHC registration) · £200–£400/year (CNHC + indemnity)

Germany (Heilpraktiker)

Germany requires foreign Ayurveda doctors to qualify as Heilpraktiker (non-medical practitioner) unless they hold a German medical license. The Heilpraktiker route is the practical path for BAMS graduates.

6–12 months (course + exam) · EUR 3,000–6,000 (course + exam + setup)

Australia

AHPRA does not directly register Ayurveda doctors. Practitioners register with the Australasian Association of Ayurveda (AAA) or work as accredited "Natural Therapy" practitioners.
