The Malayalam month Karkidaka (roughly mid-July to mid-August) is the classical rejuvenation window. Charaka and Vagbhata both prescribe Panchakarma during this phase because the cool, humid monsoon climate keeps body pores open — medicated oils absorb deeper, Vata disorders respond faster, and skin / joint conditions clear quicker than in dry seasons.
Practical UAE-visitor implication: book a 14-day or 21-day course between July 1 and August 31. Premier medical-tourism hospitals (Somatheeram, CGH Earth Kalari Kovilakom, Kairali, Vaidyaratnam) sell out their Karkidaka slots by April. Book 90+ days in advance.
Dry-comfort alternative: mid-October to February. Useful for tourists who can't handle monsoon weather but still want classical Panchakarma. Outcomes slightly slower but the treatment is fully valid.
Pre-monsoon heat (35°C+ with high humidity) makes Panchakarma uncomfortable and reduces oil-absorption efficacy. Many traditional hospitals close for staff training in May.
