Ayurvedic understanding
Classical Ayurveda recognises 4 factors for conception: Rtu (right time in cycle), Kshetra (healthy uterine bed), Ambu (nutrition), Beeja (healthy gametes). Vandhyatva can arise from any of the 4 — male factor (Shukra-kshaya), female factor (Aartava + Kshetra issues), combined, or unexplained. Ayurveda always treats both partners.
Kerala treatments
Uttara Basti (medicated uterine douche) is the Kerala signature for tubal-factor infertility — performed cycle-day 5–9 by a trained Vaidya. Phala Ghrita (medicated ghee) for 3 cycles taken in Anupana with warm milk supports both Shukra + Aartava. Shatavari Kalpa daily for ovarian reserve. For male factor — Ashwagandha + Vidari + Shudha Shilajit.
